The zoning ordinance regulates how property owners can use their land within the City of Ortonville to ensure public health, safety, and general welfare in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan. It also includes regulations for lighting, parking, signage, landscaping, and natural features, including shoreland and wetlands. Changes to the zoning ordinance text or map require Planning Commission review and City Council approval.
If the property is within the Heritage Preservation District (located in the main business district on Second Street), there are additional considerations to be reviewed.
Please see the complete menu of Ordinance and Plans’ link on the top tool bar.
